Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Mary Angela Garibaldi (Angie) has been a designer since she could hold a crayon, creating colorful images and patterns on everything from the neighborhood sidewalk to her bedroom door.
Angie graduated from the University of Alabama, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Art and Information Science. Using her skills, Angie worked on stationery layouts and pattern designs for new albums under designer Stacy Bloomston of Stacy Claire Boyd, Inc., a stationery designer/manufacturer in Birmingham, AL. After several months, homesickness brought Angie back to her family in Memphis, where she took a marketing job with a local retailer. She missed the freedom and fun of designing patterns. To fill this void, she started working for a local artist, Julia D. Azar, making cards and stationery out of her watercolor paintings. It was then that Angie was inspired to explore some options of her own.
“This past year I have been building a portfolio of designs and patterns with the hopes of one day seeing them come to life on everything from fabrics to paper goods.”
